Frequently asked questions

How do I lock apps?

In Locked.AI, grant the Screen Time / Family Controls permission, then choose which apps you want to shield. Locked.AI uses Apple's Screen Time to block those apps until you earn screen time through real-world action. You pick the apps; you can change the selection anytime.

What are the three ways to unlock?

You earn screen time by doing something real:

• Move: Locked.AI reads your movement from Apple Health to check your goal.
• Gym: your phone detects when you arrive at a place you've saved (a location geofence).
• Photo: snap a workout photo, which is sent to our AI to verify a real workout, then deleted.

On the free tier you can unlock by Move. The gym and photo methods are part of premium.

Is it free? What does premium cost?

Yes, there's a generous free tier: shield 1 app and unlock by Move, with no payment.

Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription: $9.99 / month or $99.99 / year. Premium unlocks unlimited shielded apps, the gym and photo unlock methods, and the AI coach. See the Terms for the full subscription details.

Do you see my photos or health data?

Your workout photo is sent to our AI to verify a workout, then deleted; we don't store it. Your stats, settings, and saved places are stored in your account, protected so only you can read them, and you can delete them anytime.

Your profile, your shield app selection, and your streak and screen-time stats are stored in your account.

What does the AI coach send?

When you message the coach, we send your message and context about your progress (your stats and goals) so it can write a reply.

This goes to our server and OpenAI to generate the reply. We don't send your workout photos. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.

How do I export or delete my data?

In the app, use Export My Data to get a copy, and Delete My Data (or delete your account) to remove it. Because your data is stored in your account, deleting removes it from our servers too.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. You can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. To avoid the next charge, turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Full auto-renew terms are in our Terms.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet — Locked.AI is iOS first. Its core features rely on Apple technologies like Screen Time, HealthKit, and Family Controls.
